Asset Management Support for a Large, Operationally Complex Offshore Wind Farm

The Challenge

Our client, one of seven investors in an operationally and commercially challenging offshore wind farm, was undertaking burdensome day-to-day asset management responsibilities while seeking to unlock greater long-term value from a broad portfolio. To lead that conversation effectively, they needed to be freed from the demands of day-to-day asset management, gain clear insight into where value could be unlocked, and receive practical support to engage the operator and fellow owners in a focused, coordinated manner.

Who did what

We relieved our client of day-to-day asset management tasks by taking on performance monitoring, reporting reviews, debt management and identifying key inefficiencies across the asset. This support was delivered through our Jupiter asset management package, providing embedded expertise and a structured governance framework that ensured control and accountability. Alongside this, we delivered strategic input to clarify where and how value could be unlocked, and supported our client in engaging stakeholders - enabling them to lead the formation of a Strategic Working Group that aligned the consortium and operator around targeted and shared optimisation priorities.

Key Takeaways

Our work gave the client a clear, evidence-based view of the asset’s optimisation potential and a credible, actionable pathway to unlock it. With our support, they have been able to lead the conversation with the operator and fellow consortium owners to drive a coordinated, structured engagement that transformed fragmented dynamics into a unified effort focused on long-term performance, value creation, and reorienting asset operations to align with the owners’ strategic objectives and priorities.

Our engagement has now been renewed for the second time, indicating the client’s trust in Neptune to deliver value.
