Asset Management Services to Progress Longstanding Pain Points at Solar Farm

The Challenge

NIA were engaged by one of the UK’s leading pension funds to deliver Jupiter asset management services for one of their flagship assets. The asset had recently entered operations and was plagued by a multitude of post-construction challenges that were draining the capacity of our client’s asset management team. What further compounded these challenges was the unstructured and misaligned engagement between our client and their operator, resulting in further restricting progress across these critical items.

Who Did What

As part of onboarding our client, our NIA Asset Manager identified the criticality and priority of each pain point that would a) result in progress quickly and help build momentum and b) ensure the right degree of focus was being paid to each item.

Our asset manager worked with our client to integrate NIA’s asset management framework into their way of working. This saw the introduction of high-frequency and structured engagement with the asset operator to assign appropriate actions to critical items and hold them to account through to completion.

Over the proceeding weeks and months, what started out as a series of daunting and capacity consuming challenges developed into a structured action plan that put out client back in the driver’s seat of their asset and the successful close out of critical strategic deliverables.

Key Takeaways

By applying our asset management framework, we helped the client regain control of a complex post-construction environment, turning a list of urgent issues into a structured, prioritised plan of action.

Our high-frequency engagement with the operator established discipline and accountability, replacing fragmented communication with clear ownership and measurable progress.

Ultimately, structured workflows and focused governance reduced internal pressure, accelerated issue resolution, and restored confidence in asset performance.
