Energy Transition investment management partner takes City of London office space to support new clients, alongside new hire to expand business

London, 23 September, 2026 – Neptune Infrastructure Associates [Neptune], the ownership partner for equity investors leading the energy transition, has announced today that it has expanded its footprint into new office space in the City of London, as it enhances support for its expanding client base of non-operating energy transition investors.  The business will retain its existing satellite operations throughout the UK.

Commensurately, the firm has hired Oscar Cole, previously at renewable energy investor, SDCL, to build out a London team of specialists and work closely with new mandates from London-based clean energy investors.

While energy and infrastructure investors continue to seek returns from clean energy assets and portfolios, the interface between investment activity and operational management is frequently complex and vulnerable to value leakage.  In the current market, with transaction volumes currently constrained, investment teams - under pressure to demonstrate returns – are increasingly looking to drive enhanced returns through improving the performance of assets already within portfolios.

However, the day-to-day demands of asset ownership can leave investment teams with limited capacity to focus on these priorities. Investors are frequently faced with a choice between building larger internal teams or coordinating multiple external advisers and service providers, both of which can be resource-intensive and time-consuming.

Neptune's expansion follows growing demand from energy transition investors seeking to overcome these challenges and strengthen the management and oversight of increasingly mature and complex portfolios. By taking on the day-to-day supervision of assets, technical diligence and the analysis of portfolio performance, Neptune enables funds to focus their attention on more strategic investment priorities.

The addition of a permanent London presence will enable Neptune to build closer relationships with investment managers, infrastructure funds and institutional investors based in the capital, strengthening its ability to respond to client requirements and integrate its specialist resource into existing investment teams as the business expands.

Prior to joining Neptune Infrastructure Associates, Oscar Cole served as an Asset Manager at SDCL, with responsibility for operating businesses across the UK, US and Europe. Previously, Oscar worked for Glennmont Partners from Nuveen, where his experience included supporting the implementation of a new Independent Power Producer (IPP) business plan and the independent commercial management of operating onshore and offshore renewable energy projects.

"Investment into energy transition infrastructure is in a challenging cycle,” said Hamish Yates, Founder, Neptune Infrastructure Associates. “Investors face constraints around new project acquisitions, so there is much greater focus on how to drive enhanced returns from existing assets, or secure increased value from disposals.”

"And while tighter capital availability means investment teams are deliberately lean, we're seeing increasing demand for experienced resource that can sit alongside those teams, take responsibility for much of the supervision and analysis involved in managing complex portfolios, and enable investors to focus on value-add, strategy and decision making.”

“By expanding our team with Oscar's specialist experience, alongside establishing a permanent presence closer to our London client base, we're increasing our capacity to meet that demand as the business continues to grow.”

Oscar Cole, Senior Asset Manager, Neptune Infrastructure Associates said: "Having worked across investment, financing and the day-to-day management of clean energy assets, I've seen how investment performance is directly connected to what happens in the detail of management after an asset has been acquired.

As portfolios grow and investment teams are asked to oversee more assets and more complex commercial arrangements, Neptune's model is interesting because it brings additional resource and specialist expertise into that process while keeping investment decisions where they belong – with the investor. I look forward to helping build that capability from London."
